Privacy Policy
Your Privacy Comes First. This policy explains how FileConvertGo handles your information when you use our file processing tools.
Last updated: July 2026
Files We Process
When you upload a file for compression, conversion, or other processing, the file is transmitted to our servers over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. The file is used exclusively to perform the processing operation you selected. We do not access, view, or use your files for any other purpose.
We do not sell, share, or distribute your uploaded files to any third party. You retain full ownership of your content at all times.
File Privacy
Uploaded files are stored in isolated directories with randomised identifiers. No direct public access to your files is possible. Each processed file is assigned a unique, non-guessable download token that is required to retrieve the result.
All file transfers between your browser and our server are protected using encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data during processing.
Automatic File Cleanup
Uploaded files and processed results are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers after 2 hours. A scheduled cleanup process ensures complete removal of all temporary files after the retention period expires. You can also manually discard your session data at any time.
Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the service and prevent abuse:
- Guest usage identifier: A random, secure identifier stored in an HttpOnly cookie. This identifier is hashed using SHA-256 and used solely to track guest processing usage. It contains no personal information and cannot be linked back to your identity.
- Uploaded files: Temporarily stored for processing and automatically deleted after 2 hours.
- Contact form data: If you contact us, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message to respond to your inquiry.
- Anonymous usage metrics: Non-personal data such as pages visited and tools used, collected to improve our service.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information when you use the service as a guest.
Cookies
We use minimal, strictly necessary cookies:
- Session cookie: Required for admin authentication and CSRF protection.
- Guest identifier cookie: A random, non-sequential identifier to enforce fair usage limits. This cookie is HttpOnly and contains no personal data.
We do not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party cookies. We do not use fingerprinting or cross-site tracking technologies.
Third-Party Infrastructure
Our service operates on our own infrastructure. We do not share your data with third-party analytics, advertising, or marketing services. No third-party scripts or tracking pixels are embedded on our website.
Data Protection
We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections, secure file storage with randomised identifiers, input validation and sanitisation, CSRF protection on all forms, and rate limiting to prevent abuse. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
User Control
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of any contact form submissions
- Request information about what data we hold related to your inquiries
- Stop using the service at any time, after which no further data is collected
Changes to the Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
